The Panel for the Grace Butler Memorial Foundation Award at Ara 2024 - 25
Rosie Ibbotson: Rosie Ibbotson is Senior Lecturer in Art History and Theory at Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha University of Canterbury, where she teaches across all levels and is the programme co-ordinator for the Postgraduate Diploma in Art Curatorship. Prior to this, her background was in the museum sector, and she worked at the Yale Center for British Art in New Haven, Connecticut. Ibbotson’s research interests are interdisciplinary, and in particular concern the entanglements of visual culture, museology, and environmental violence.
Kim Low: Printmaker, artist and educator based in Ōtautahi, Kim Lowe was the recipient of the Olivia Spencer Bower Award in 2019. She is Senior Lecturer at Ara in Art, Design and Creativity.
Chloe Cull: Chloe Cull (Ngāi Tahu, Ngāi te Ruahikihiki) Pouarataki Curator Māori position, Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū. She has a Master’s Degree in Art History from Victoria University of Wellington and Post-Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning from the University of Canterbury. Cull has also held curatorial positions at The Dowse Art Museum (Lower Hutt), the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery (New Plymouth).
